Techweek 2014, Miami, Techweek100 Leader
In 2014, Techweek Miami named ITWomen founder and then-president Victoria Usherenko to its Techweek100 list as a “South Florida leader with significant impact on business and technology.” List members include managers of fast growing technology companies, prominent investors, key enablers of the digital ecosystem, creators of new technologies, and other inventors. Victoria currently serves on ITWomen’s Board of Advisors.
South Florida Digital Alliance / Miami Dade Broadband Coalition, Universal Access Award
Sherry Thompson Giordano, ITWomen Board member, was selected to receive the Universal Access Award by the South Florida Digital Alliance / Miami Dade Broadband Coalition in 2012 for superior contributions to the community in digital inclusion and computer literacy for youth. Sherry was recognized for initiating and managing the ITWomen Role Model Speakers Program, which brings IT and Engineering professionals into classrooms and educational programs to encourage girls 8 to 18 to pursue careers in those fields.
National Academy Foundation, Champion Advisory Board
Sherry Thompson Giordano, ITWomen Advisory Board member, was honored as a Champion Advisory Board member of National Academy Foundation in 2011. Sherry, former Executive Director of ITWomen, had served as Vice Chair of the National Foundation Academy’s South Florida Tri-County Advisory Board and was the driving force of the ITWomen Role Model Speakers program. The RMS brings technology business leaders into the classrooms. Pvover 1,000 students are served each year.

Women’s History Coalition of Miami-Dade County, Julia Award for Women of Impact
The Women’s History Coalition of Miami-Dade County, Inc. presented ITWomen founder and former president Victoria Usherenko with its Julia Award for Women of Impact in 2010. The award recognizes the achievements of ITWomen and the ITWomen Charitable Foundation in inspiring and helping increase the number of females in technology with its programs. Each year, in celebration of Women’s History Month and the spirit of leadership provided by women, the Coalition recognizes six women with the prestigious award, named in honor of Julia Tuttle, the “founding mother of Miami.”
