World Fuel Field Trip Immerses Girls in IT Futures

World Fuel Services welcomed students from Miami Lakes Educational Center to a field trip as part of ITWomen Role Models program.

World Fuel Services in Miami opened its doors to girls from Miami Lakes Education Center for an in-depth field trip Feb 15 as part of ITWomen’s Role Models Speaker program. 

“All of the wonderful speakers gave their unique, and sometimes unconventional, paths which led them to careers in IT, including World Fuel’s CIO Massoud Sedigh,” said Patricia Mundarain, ITWomen Executive Director. 

The day trip highlighted the opportunities available in the IT industries and gave the students the chance to meet women working in the IT field. One of the presentions included comparative salaries of graduates with different bachelor’s degrees, with engineering degrees topping the list.
