Will Desktop Technology Survive?
The survival of desktop technology was the hot topic at the ITWomen”Mobile Mania” May 2012 program, one of an annual series of “What’s Hot What’s Not in Technology” panels held by ITWomen. Sponsor Southern Wine and Spirits provided its Miramar headquarters for the program with host Mary Adams. Panelists includedChief Medical Information Officer (CMIO), Geeta Nayyar, M.D., of AT&T ForHealth SM and security expert John P. Ceraolo, MSIA, of 3Cinteractive in Boca Raton. Nearly 40 persons came to hear insights on how today’s enterprises, especially health care providers, are using mobile technology that may supplement or displace desktop environments.
