South Florida’s Celebrity CIOs Help Raise Scholarship Funds for High School Girls Pursuing a Career in Technology

ITWomen Brings Prominent CIOs Together for a Celebrity Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament and Casino Night on November 15th

DANIA BEACH, FL – November 1, 2012 –  It’s time to break out your mirrored sunglasses and practice stacking your chips! ITWomen is hosting the CIO Celebrity Poker Tournament & Casino Night Scholarship Fundraiser on November 15th at the Sheraton Ft. Lauderdale Airport Hotel in Dania Beach, Florida.  CIOs from all over South Florida will bluff their way through this exciting event alongside scholarship donors who will compete for luxury prizes and ultimate bragging rights.

As ITWomen celebrates its 10th year, the Texas Hold ’em Poker Tournament has become a flagship event for the organization, attracting national and global business to ITWomen’s mission of closing the gender gap in technology and engineering fields. Technology leaders participating in the event will find themselves in a casino-style setting, with table games complemented by gourmet dinner stations, chocolate and dessert bars, and a VIP pre-game reception hosted by the national CIO Executive Council.

ITWomen, the South Florida-based organization for professional IT and Engineering women, helps girls pursue technology and engineering degrees. ITWomen has raised more than $250,000 and awarded 59 scholarships to female graduates from South Florida high schools.
