Girls Inspired to Break into Audio Engineering
ITWomen Role Model Speaker Session at PACE Center for Girls Broward 4-18-2016.
The PACE Center for Girls Broward was the setting for a high-energy, joyous ITWomen Role Model session April 23rd. Audio engineer Tiffany Miranda from Girls Make Beats came as an ITWomen Role Model Speaker (RMS) to introduce girls to the experience of creating and mixing sounds and spark curiosity about the field.
The experience was so inspiring that girls clamored to learn more. “I found my dream job!” “I want to hear more” “This is new,” exclaimed girls in their feedback. The dozen girls participating got hands-on experience in combining tempo, pitch and beat for harmonious sounds with key instruments like the snare/mixer and kick drums.
One of the most powerful aspects of ITWomen Role Models is the personal journeys shared with girls to show how they can make it too. Tiffany’s path from performing office chores to becoming an accomplished singer and audio engineer in this male-dominated field was empowering. Thank you Tiffany and Girls Make Beats for sharing your time, expertise and passion!
