Robotics Camp Kicks Off Monday June 13
The 2016 ITWomen Summer Robotics Camp for Girls kicks off this coming Monday, June 13! The girls are excited and the tech kits and camp T-shirts are in the works! The two-week camp at Northeast High School in Oakland Park is made possible thanks to the generous support of NextEra Energy Foundation.
ITWomen’s All Girls Summer Robotics Camp for ages 10-16 is designed to spark students’ love for technology, offering a creative, experiential learning experience in coding, robotics design and more. The small, close-knit environment also fosters ideas, entrepreneurship, leadership and philanthropy, alongside tech-savvy mentors and camp coordinators.
The students will enjoy the nurturing guidance and support of Bright & Smart Robotics CEO Lucy Tamez; Northeast lead STEM teacher Randa Flinn and science teacher Randy McLaughlin; female engineers from NextEra who will speak with the girls; Noel Picinichse, a 2016 ITWomen Scholarship winner and Jordan Paulus, an IT major at the University of Florida, who will be serving as an ITWomen Robotics Camp intern; and ITWomen members.
