Magic Leap Role Model Speaker Excites Girls for Tech, NASA Internship Experience

Magic Leap Sr Test Automation Engineer visits Girls Get IT at S. Broward High School for ITWomen Role Model Speaker program

ITWomen Role Model Speaker from Magic Leap, Denise Mendez, 5th from left 2nd row, inspired Girls Get IT Club at South Broward HS

ITWomen’s Role Model Speakers program visited the Girls Get IT club at South Broward High School in March.  We were thrilled to have first-time speaker Denise Mendez from Magic Leap get the girls excited about careers in engineering and IT.  The girls listened attentively as Denise told stories of her college career at UF in electrical and electronics engineering and the disparity of male/female students in those types of programs.

Her enthusiasm for her time spent as an intern at NASA was truly contagious! And then she showed a video which piqued their interest in Magic Leap’s revolutionary new technology while explaining her role there as Sr. Test Automation Engineer.  The Girls Get IT club had plenty of questions for Denise, during and after her presentation and welcomed her back in the future.
