Irene Lam is the Vice President of R&D for Access Control and Video Systems brands within Tyco Security Products. She has responsibility for product development, technical support, and advanced manufacturing engineering spanning 8 design centers including the Shanghai and Bangalore Technology centers.
Irene joined Tyco in September 2004 as Product Manager for Software House. Over the course of her 10-plus years with Tyco, she has held multiple roles within Product Management and R&D primarily focus on Access and Video.
Prior to joining Tyco, Irene was the Senior Product Manager at CyOptics, a fiber optics startup headquartered in Waltham, MA. She has over 11 years of product marketing and management experience in several high tech companies including Texas Instruments, Lasertron, and Corning. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Her success at Tyco is attributed by not only hard work and dedication but a vast network of sponsors, advisors, and mentors. She deeply believes in paying it forward and is actively involved in being a mentor – formal and informal within and outside of Tyco. She was recognized by Security System News as one of the top 10 Women in Security for 2015 for her contributions to the security industry.
