Empowering the Next Generation of Leaders

ITWomen's 2023 Summer Robotics Camp for Girls
July 10 - 14, 2023
South Dade Senior High School, Homestead, FL.

Our free, in-person robotics camp brought together an amazing group of middle and high school girls for a week of hands-on learning, innovation, and inspiration! Campers explored the fundamentals of robotics while unleashing their creativity to design and build real-world solutions.

A special thank you to our partners at Akamai, whose incredible female leaders Teresa Colon,  Shannon Melendez Valverde and Daniela Picado joined us to share insights into careers in cybersecurity and offer powerful advice on navigating and thriving in the tech world.

Beyond the coding and building, campers enjoyed pizza, prizes, and plenty of fun—forming new friendships and gaining confidence in their abilities.

This camp is more than just a tech program—it’s a supportive community where girls connect with peers and mentors, and hear from trailblazing women across industries like healthcare, aerospace, and cybersecurity.

We’re proud to help inspire tomorrow’s STEM leaders—one robot at a time!

In 2020, due to COVID19, ITWomen offered two virtual camps for no charge, thanks to a generous sponsorship from our Sustaining Sponsor, Citrix. Virtual programming also drew greater enrollment and reached families over longer geographical distances.
