It was Robot Showcase time on the final day of ITWomen’s 2023 Girls’ Summer Robotics Camp, Friday July 14 at South Dade Senior High School in Homestead, FL.

Campers celebrated with pizza, prizes and commemorative T-shirts. Shawn Waring, Applied Engineering and Robotics Technical Education teacher, supervised the camp.

During the week ITWomen invited inspiring speakers to talk to the girls on the bright futures in tech and the best courses to take to apply for a college degree in technology and engineering. Included among the speakers were Cybersecurity professionals from Akamai, who spoke to the girls on the range of occupations in cybersecurity and fielded their questions.

ITWomen offers an annual summer camp for girls as part of our mission to increase the number of women choosing careers in technology and engineering.

Thank you to Akamai for its grant enabling ITWomen to offer this camp free of charge to inspire girls from 11 to 17 years old to reach for a future in tech.
